E-Ink新品:Core Devices 發表 Core 2 Duo 與 Core Time 2 智慧手錶,承襲 Pebble 精神重返市場

E-Ink new products: Core Devices released Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 smart watches, returning to the market with the spirit of Pebble

Eric Migicovsky, who created the classic Pebble smartwatch, announced the launch of two new products through his startup Core Devices - Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2. They continue the design concept of the Pebble watch and are equipped with modern upgrades. They are expected to be shipped in July and December 2025 respectively. This time, it was not funded by the crowd, but the founder paid for the full development and pre-order out of his own pocket.

Core 2 Duo is equipped with a 1.26-inch black and white electronic paper screen with a resolution of 144×168 (176DPI). It continues Pebble's traditional simple and practical design. The body is made of polycarbonate and supports a barometer and electronic compass. Core Time 2 is equipped with a 1.5-inch 64-color e-paper display with a resolution increased to 200×228 (202DPI). The screen has a touch function and is equipped with a metal casing and a heart rate sensor, making it suitable for users who need health tracking.

Both watches have IPX8 waterproof performance , 30 days of battery life , microphone and speaker , step and sleep tracking functions , and support iPhone and Android App control . They run the open source PebbleOS system and can be customized with watch faces and installed with more than 10,000 apps and tools. Compared to the past, this time it has added a vibration feedback motor, a standard Pebble charger interface and 22mm strap support, making it easier for existing users to continue using it.

The Core 2 Duo is priced at $149 and is lightweight and durable, making it suitable for daily wear. The Core Time 2 is priced at $225 and is targeted at advanced users who prefer health functions and color displays. Both maintain Pebble's usual practical approach, emphasizing non-intrusive notification design and long battery life.

This batch of new products is not only a continuation of Pebble's design philosophy, but also a symbol of the practice of the open source community in commercial products. Core Devices also plans to continue updating PebbleOS in the future and encourage the community to contribute features so that users and developers can participate in the evolution of smart watches.
